Now Showing: Union Grove Vineyard Featured in Healthy Hope Documentary!

Union Grove Vineyard was delighted to be featured in the groundbreaking documentary Healthy Hope, exploring the incredible research of doctors and scientists who are working to understand the valuable anti-carcinogenic properties of muscadine grapes. Premiering in 2022, it has been featured in several film festivalsacross the US and is now available to view on Vimeo.

The film follows researchers from Johns Hopkins University, Wake Forest University School of Medicine, North Carolina State University, Morgan State University, and Howard University. Produced and directed by Dan and Cathy McLaughlin, they consulted with several vineyards, including Union Grove Vineyard’s Martin Crompton, who shared our UGF mission of optimizing the growth of superfoods like muscadines through soil health.

As you will hear from the research, muscadines are packed with polyphenols (the highest of any grape variety!), which deliver high levels of antioxidants that are linked to stronger immune systems, higher energy levels, and so much more. We are just beginning to understand all the potential benefits of the mighty muscadine!

This film helped to reinforce our commitment to regenerative farming and to growing healthy sustainable food for our community and the world. We always love learning from scientists and fellow growers and are proud to be part of a project that is passionate about harnessing the healthy power of muscadines!
