Our Regenerative Vineyard

Regenerative agriculture is our approach to farming that prioritizes soil health, biodiversity, and natural processes. We grow our grapes without the use of herbicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

It is a holistic, systems-based approach that seeks to create resilient and regenerative agricultural systems that restore and replenish natural resources. We use a variety of practices such as crop rotation, cover cropping, no tillage, and the integration of sheep (livestock) to improve soil health, conserve water, and promote biodiversity.

  • We have built an expansive composting operation, with high production compost provided by leaves and tree ramial from the Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro and aggregated through several methods: windrows, Johnson Su and large aerated static compost beds.

  • We have our own vermicomposting lab with 60,000 red wriggler worms supplying the richest soil inputs and natural fertilizers.

  • We rotationally graze 240 Katahdin sheep to provide natural weed control and fertilizers.

First Certified Regenerative Table Grape Vineyard in the U.S.

We are so proud to announce we are the first U.S. vineyard to receive the regenerative certification from Regenified. This prestigious verification standard is led by Gabe Brown and Dr. Allen Williams — recognized leaders in the regenerative industry creating the highest standard of quality farming and ranching practices.

When you eat our grapes, you can be assured that they are certified regeneratively-grown. Read more about it in our blog.
